EPS Electric Machines

The basic information about the structure and operating modes of electric machines used on electric railway rolling stock is presented. Theoretical bases and principles of operation of traction and general industrial DC and AC electric motors, generators, transformers, auxiliary machines, converters and accumulator batteries, their parameters, characteristics and design designs are considered. The issues of maintenance and repair of electric machines, transformers and EPC accumulator batteries are highlighted, and the basic rules of labor protection during their operation are given. It is intended for students of technical schools and colleges of railway transport majoring in "Technical operation of railway rolling stock" and can be useful for engineering and technical workers of locomotive depots, as well as locomotive crews.
